Burbank, January 30, 2007: Paul Long, President of Kappa Studios, Inc., a television production and post-production facility in Burbank, was recently named to the city’s newly-formed Property-Based Business Improvement District Board (P-BID) for the area in Burbank known as Magnolia Park.

The eleven-member board consists of business and property owners in the district, as well as the city manager and community development director. The board will oversee the utilization of funds from property assessments in the Magnolia Park corridor, issued in 2006.

“Magnolia Park has an interesting mix of eclectic shops and businesses, and we’re interested in drawing more people to the area,” said Long. “We’re currently working on developing new parking strategies, as well as funding outdoor events designed to increase commerce and enhance property values.” The newly-formed Magnolia Park P-BID was established following successful improvements implemented in Burbank’s downtown area by the creation of a similar property-based business improvement district.
