Burbank, October 12, 2005: Kappa Studios announced it will be a sponsor of the HDFEST 2005 Los Angeles Event. Other sponsors for the sixth annual international digital film festival include Intel, Dolby, Film & Video magazine, Dalsa Digital Cinema and Video Gear Source.

Kappa president Paul Long said, “We are very pleased to demonstrate our commitment to the HD production community by sponsoring HDFEST. The growth of this event over the past six years clearly demonstrates the strong inroads of digital cinema into feature film production.” Kappa Studios offers HD finishing and Dolby 5.1 surround mixing to independent producers and distributors.

As part of it’s sponsorship of HDFEST Kappa’s Avid DS Nitris editor and graphic artist, Igor Ridanovic created an HD trailer to be shown before each screening and additional segments introducing each award category for the Deffie Awards Ceremony.

Screenings and events will be taking place at the ETC’s Digital Cinema Lab at the Hollywood Pacific Theatre and the Dolby Laboratories Larry Umlang Presentation Theatre December 1st-4th. The Los Angeles event is the conclusion of the HDFEST 2005 World Tour and Los Angeles’ largest HD focused event of 2005. The HDFEST agenda includes screenings of HD films (LA and HD Premieres), panels on HD filmmaking, industry networking parties, and the 2005 HDFEST Deffie Awards Ceremony.
