Flobots “Rise” Music Video Finished at Kappa Studios
Burbank, CA August 8, 2008: Executive Producer Thom Fennessey of Collaboration Factory chose Kappa Studios to post the latest music video for the hip-hop band Flobots. The song “Rise” which calls for engaging in a civic change comes from the band’s album “Fight With Tools.”
Another track from this record “Handlebars” recently rose to #3 position on Billboard’s Hot Modern Rock chart.“The music video was shot on 16mm and had some pretty large hairs and dust particles in the gate,” recalls Kappa’s Senior Editor Lee Mansis. “During the conform we maintained and augmented the client’s tilt and scan moves in order to keep the largest hairs out of frame.”
After the Final Cut Pro conform the video was colored, finished and versioned in one of Kappa’s Avid DS Nitris suites.
“We did architectural signage removal and additional dirt fixes. The process was simple and straightforward,” says Kappa’s DS Artist Igor Ridanovic. The final video was aspect ratio corrected for 1.85.
“Rise” was produced by Sarah Mac Murray, directed by Gavin Bowden and edited by Jesse Atlas.
