Kappa Studios Graphics Shots included in Matrox NAB 2003 Demo

BUrbank, April 11, 2003: Matrox, the leading video equipment manufacturer in Montreal, Canada has selected several recently-produced Kappa Studios design and effects shots for inclusion in their latest demo reel. The demo reel, which was first showcased at NAB 2003 in Las Vegas, demonstrates the quality editing, design and effects that have been created on Matrox-based systems. The Kappa clips Matrox chose were taken from the San Damiano Foundation’s tail end logo and from the effects-heavy :30 Nike spec spot “Proverb”, both created by Kappa’s own Igor Ridanovic.

Kappa Studios Rescues Audio for “GOOD MORNING AMERICA”

April 4, 2003: ABC’s top-rated daytime show Good Morning America has tapped into Kappa Studios’ new Audio Rescue 911 department for a segment about the first Gulf War. This exciting new service takes distorted, unusable audio and digitally transforms it into usable audio. GMA segment producer Bill Cunningham called on Kappa to clean up some deteriorating tapes that are vitally important to his project. Using real-time technology, the “bad” sound was successfully transferred from micro-cassettes into the system where it was cleaned up and finally recorded onto BetacamSP, resulting in an 80% overall improvement!
